“Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have”
– Jim Rohn
During the holiday season, we tend to recognize the importance of donating and generosity.
In the hopes of passing along this spirit to our community and friends, here are 4 unique and meaningful ways to GIVE.
Water the World
Water the World constructs mobile, completely solar-powered water pumps with 30 gallon reservoir tanks. These pumps not only allow for a mobile irrigation system for agriculture watering but also have an attachment to filter dirty water into crisp, clean drinking water. Their mission is to impact the lives of our brothers and sisters in the global community on a global scale. Please email email@example.com to find out how you can water the world with them, or visit Facebook for more information!
Operation Gratitude seeks to lift spirits and meet the evolving needs of our Military and First Responder communities, while providing volunteer opportunities for Americans to express their appreciation to all who serve our nation. Every year, Operation Gratitude sends 150,000+ individually addressed care packages to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed overseas, to their children left behind, and to New Recruits, Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors and their Care Givers. Each package contains food, hygiene products, entertainment and handmade items, as well as personal letters of support. Click here to find out how YOU can give back. @OpGratitude #SupportourTroups
Get your children involved and create Blessing Bags to hand out to those in need or give to homeless shelters. This is a way to help in a situation where you find someone who’s in need but are unsure of exactly what to do. A Blessing Bag gives you a very real way to meet these immediate needs by providing basic supplies such as toiletries, water, food and warmth. This is a way to demonstrate to your kids and to others the act of giving in the face of a need instead of driving by or walking away without any action. Start making your blessing bags today! Answer a letter to Santa written by a child who needs a brighter Christmas! Every year, Be An Elf recruits new volunteers who adopt letters to Santa from low-income children. They read and select letters to Santa at a participating post office, and send their gifts directly to the families. Children’s letters are obtained only through the USPS Operation Letters to Santa program. Whether you adopt a letter, donate online to support our mission of sending gifts to needy children, or tell your friends to spread the word, you’ll be helping someone’s Christmas become a whole lot merrier. Visit BeAnElf for more information.
